Sydney, Australia:

NSW recorded seven new local cases of COVID-19 after 69,809 tests reported in the 24 hours to 8:00pm last night. From the seven cases, four are linked to the northern beaches cluster and other three are being investigated.

Meanwhile, NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has urged people to avoid crowding around Boxing Day sales.

“We know this is not the easiest message to give to those retailers, but we want to discourage people going to the CBD tomorrow,” she said.

If people do go shopping in the CBD, they must wear a mask, she added.
