NSW Police have released CCTV images and are appealing for public assistance after a schoolgirl was sexually touched on a train last month.
Just after 2.30pm on Tuesday 25 February 2020, a 12-year-old girl boarded a citybound train at Asquith Railway Station.
A man boarded the same train and sat in the same carriage, directly opposite her.
Feeling uncomfortable, the girl moved to another carriage, followed by the man who again sat nearby.
The girl got up to move again and was followed by the man. As she tried to walk past him, he is alleged to have sexually touched her.
The girl screamed at the man, who walked off.
Police were notified and officers from North Shore Police Area Command have commenced an investigation into the incident.
As inquiries continue, detectives have now released CCTV vision of a man they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.
The man depicted is described as being of Indian Sub-Continental appearance, about 170cm tall, of a medium build, with short black hair.
He is shown wearing a blue t-shirt, dark pants and is carrying a backpack.
