Today marks the 62nd anniversary of Nepal-Australia diplomatic relations


Melbourne Australia, Today marks the 62nd anniversary of the establishment of formal relations between Nepal and Australia. An agreement was reached on February 15, 1960, to establish diplomatic relations between Nepal and Australia.

The six-decade-long relationship has deepened the strong ties between the two countries as economic partners. Lately, Australia has become an excellent destination for higher studies for Nepali students. Australia is bringing in billions of Nepali rupees through the educational industry. The Australian government has been spending 2.2 million annually in Nepal under ASAD.

It has been 15 years since the establishment of a residential embassy in Australia. Nepalis here are hopeful that the mutual support will be enhanced by linking Nepali society and diplomatic relations, which have been growing numerically stronger in recent times.
