Victoria has posted another day of zero new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday – earlier in the morning Victoria had reported one new case but it was later reviewed and dismissed as a false positive.
A false positive is when someone who does not have coronavirus, tests positive for it. According to health experts, “No test is 100% accurate – there will always be some people who test positive when they do not have the disease, or test negative when they do have it”
Victoria’s Chief Health Officer Professor Brett Sutton sharing Saturday’s number on Twitter had said “Today’s single case is a low positive and in isolation. Result will go through expert panel review today.”
The review found the earlier announced single case to be a false positive. Brett Sutton then tweeted the following:
