Victoria, Australia’s earlier Covid-19 hotspot, has recorded its fourth day with zero new cases of Covid-19, suggesting it has been able to control community transmission of the virus for a second time.
Finding itself at a centre of a second wave of infections, Victorian residents were placed in months long lockdown since July. Infections peaked around late July – early August with certain days of cases above 700 new cases daily, before the state was finally able to subdue its infection.
The state, especially Metropolitan Melbourne, is coming out of a months long lockdown as number of new cases began to subdue.
With this Metropolitan Melbourne’s 14 day rolling averege has dropped down to 1.9. There are 2 cases with an unknown source. Regional Victoria has had zero new cases (known source or an unknown source) since 20th October.
