Victoria’s Covid-19 cluster grows to 21 cases

Melbourne, Australia:

Victoria has recorded three new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday, bringing the total number of COVID-19 infections linked the cluster to 21. All three new cases are connected to a cluster at the Smile Buffalo Thai restaurant in Black Rock.

According to Deputy Chief Health Officer Allen Cheng, “13 of the cases dined at the restaurant on December 21”. The remaining eight are are also linked to the same cluster.

While earlier believed to have begun from a diner who had visited the restaurant prior to testing positive, health authorities are still looking for case zero, after assessing that the returnee’s exact movements “did not quite line up”.

Meanwhile, health authorities have expanded the list of public exposure sites to 51 locations.
