We will continue to welcome Nepali students in Victoria: Minister Spence


Melbourne, Australia – Victoria’s Multicultural Minister Ros Spence has said that Nepali students will be welcomed in Victoria. She said Nepal is one of Victoria’s top 5 sources of international students and will continue to welcome them.

She said that she was happy to meet the newly appointed Nepali Ambassador Kailash Raj Pokharel. She expressed her happiness about the meeting through social media on Thursday. She also described Victoria as home to more than 20,000 Nepalis. She mentioned that the presence of Nepalis in Victoria has boosted the economy there and provided more income, prosperity and opportunities to Victorian businesses.
“We will continue to build relationships with our local and vibrant Nepalese community and ensure that Victoria’s partnership with Nepal continues to grow,” she wrote on Facebook.

Ambassador Pokharel had a meeting with Minister Spence when he came to Melbourne to attend the Nepal Festival as a chief guest.
