FDB decides to change film censoring rule

Film Development Board (FDB) Nepal has decided to amend the rule relating to film censorship. According to the proposed rule, one has to submit application at least four days before the date of the film screening to get permission to screen domestic and foreign films.

Earlier, the application should be submitted seven days prior to the screening. A meeting of the Film Development Board held on Monday decided to amend the rule. The FDB also decided that if a film is to be shown after 11:00 pm, the exhibitors should screen their film ensuring necessary peace and security arrangements. The board has also urged the film exhibitors to inform the FDB before screening the movie in the night.

Earlier, there was a provision that the film should be screened until 11 pm and if screened after that, permission of the concerned district administration office should be taken and the Film Development Board should also be informed.
