Nepal Calendar Determination Committee, the authorised body to determine dates and times for Hindu festivals, has determined 11:51 AM on October 5 as the auspicious hour to receive Dashain tika this year.
Similarly, the auspicious time for Ghatasthapana, the first day of the festival, 10:23 AM (26 September).
Dashain is the 15-day festival celebrated by Nepali Hindus at home and abroad. They receive tika on the 10th day as a blessing from goddess Durga.
The process of receiving tika and blessing from the seniors will continue for the next five days after the main day.
