A total of 1,600 people have been recommended for working as caregivers in Israel.
The Department of Foreign Employment (DoFE) recommended 1,600 names to Isreal to work as caregivers on Sunday.
A total of 9,699 youth had applied to go to Israel for employment.
The Department recommended 70 per cent of the women and 30 per cent of the men who passed the language test to the Population, Immigration and Border Authority of Israel (PIBA), according to the DoFE.
Israel’s PIBA will now select workers from the list forwarded by the Department, it said.
There will then be an employment agreement between the individuals selected by PIBA and the employer. People with employment agreements will be able to go to Israel.
The Department said it would prepare a roster of 1,400 out of the 1,600 currently selected and select 1,000 workers from Israel. PIBA has an authority to select workers based on the roster provided by DoFE, it said.
The estimated cost for a worker to go to Israel is Rs. 165,000, including plane tickets and other documentation required for migrant workers.
This time, the selected candidates will work for organisations, including nursing homes and care homes, not individual homes.
Initially, the working period will be a one-year contract and after that, the contract period will be extended for up to five years.
The workers will receive a monthly salary of about Rs. 200,000 Nepali rupees, the Department said.
