2 people arrested with 10,000 fake ballot papers and election stamps


Two people have been arrested from Birgunj with fake ballot papers and election (Swastik) stamps. 33-year-old Rajan Singh of Inarwa-16, Birgunj and 23-year-old Amiri Raut Kurmi of Kalaiya-16 were arrested on Thursday night.

They were arrested by a joint team of Nepal Police and Armed Police while traveling to Birgunj from Kalaiya with fake ballot papers and cash.

Tej Prasad Pokharel, Chief Inspector of Nepal Armed Police Force, Parsa informed that 10,000 fake ballot papers, 250 swastika stamps, 48 ​​stamp pads and 272,000 cash were seized while checking the car.

According to the District Police Office Parsa, further investigation is being carried out regarding the incident.

They have been handed over to the Chief Electoral Officer’s office, Parsa for necessary action, along with fake ballot papers, stamps and cash.

Earlier, on Wednesday, a 40-year-old Indian national was arrested on charges of carrying 15,000 fake ballot papers from Parsa border.
