Forest employees have seized a huge quantity of wooden planks from separate places in Bardibas Municipality of Mahottari district during raids.
Santosh Jha, District Forest Officer, said that forest employees and forest guards have jointly seized 221 sets of wooden planks from Gauridanda of Bardibas-3 and Maisthan of ward number 5. The employees and forest guards have seized the flattened woods from a furniture industry of Gauridanda on Thursday.
During the raid, the security officials have found the industry inside the home of a furniture owner. From the factory alone, the officials seized 215 sets of wooden planks and a timber crushing machine.
The furniture in the area was found running without taking permission and keeping notice board, said Jha. They have been investigating into the case and the legality of the factory.
The house and factory owner has been on the run following the raid, said Jha. The security officials have not revealed the identity of the furniture industry and its owner.
Prior to this, the Forest Office on Wednesday also seized six sets of wooden planks from Maisthan of Bardibas-5.
