2,593 Foreign Tourists Arrived In Nepal Yesterday


2,593 foreign tourists entered Nepal on Saturday, April 9. This is the highest number two and a half years after the COVID-19 epidemic, according to the Immigration Department.

Director-General of the Immigration Department, Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, said that the number of tourists has increased significantly in March compared to the previous months and the statistics showed, Nepal’s tourism sector, which was slowed down by the COVID-19 epidemic, is slowly returning to normal.

In March alone, 42,006 tourists entered Nepal, according to the Immigration Department. This is an increase of 180.47 per cent over the previous year. In March last year, only 14,977 tourists entered Nepal.

According to the department, 42.04 per cent of the tourists entering Nepal in March were from SAARC countries. 26.85 per cent from Europe and 4.18 per cent from Asia.

With the increase in the number of tourists, the main tourist areas of Kathmandu, Lumbini, Sauraha, Pokhara and other places are full of hotels, said, businessmen.
