A total of 54 candidates have registered their candidacy for the six seats in the elections of the House of Representatives (HoR) and Provincial Assembly (PA) that is being held on November 20.
Two seats for the HoR election and four seats for the PA election in Ilam, 54 candidates including five independent candidates are contesting for a total of six seats.
According to the Office of the Electoral Officer, 25 candidates have filed their nominations for the HoR election and 29 candidates are contesting for four seats in the PA election in the district.
Of these, 11 candidates have registered their candidacies nominations in the HoR election from constituency -1 and 14 have registered candidacies from constituency – 2.
Whereas, eight candidates including former Prime Minister Jalanath Khanal, and three independent candidates have registered their candidacies from constituency 1.
Likewise, 12 political parties including two independent candidates have registered their candidacies from constituency – 2. ( Source : TRN,)
