558 Minor Tremors Occur Since The 2015 Gorkha Earthquake: NEMRC

Many tremors have occurred in the country as it is geologically located in the earthquake risk zone, according to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre (NEMRC), Lainchaur.

Many tremors above four-magnitude have taken place in the country since a 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck the country on May 19 with its epicenter at Bhulbhule in Lamjung district, said seismologist Bharat Koirala.

Six persons were hurt and over 200 houses destroyed in the earthquake at Bhulbhule. Investigations into whether the quake at Bhulbhule is an aftershock of the 2015 Gorkha earthquake or a fresh one are underway, he said.

So far, 558 above four magnitude tremors have taken place in the country since the Gorkha quake occurred, according to the Centre.
