So far, 828 Nepali nationals have returned home from Afghanistan after being rescued by various international missions. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), 45 people arrived in Kathmandu via a regular Turkish Air flight on Monday and five from a Fly Dubai flight on Sunday evening.
According to the Ministry, necessary initiatives are being taken to rescue and repatriate more Nepali nationals left in the lurch in Kabul. The government has arranged necessary COVID-19 tests and isolation centers for the Kabul returnees.
They will be sent to their respective homes after completing 13 days of institutional isolation.
The Ministry has requested the Nepalis in Afghanistan waiting for rescue and their families in Nepal to fill their details in the online portal of the Consular Services Department and available mobile numbers.
MoFA has requested the Nepali nationals stranded in Afghanistan to contact the Department of Consular Services (DoCS) at +977-9749326458, MoFA at +9779749326459 and Embassy of Nepal in India at +918929601925 on cell phone, Viber and WhatsApp.

Nepal does not have a diplomatic presence in Afghanistan but thousands of Nepali men work as security guards in diplomatic districts of the country.
