An all-party meeting called by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is now taking place at the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar.
Prime Minister Deuba called the meeting in an effort to end deadlock of federal parliament. Top leaders of all parties representing in the federal parliament except the CPN (UML) have participated in the meeting, according to the PM’s Secretariat.

Beduram Bhusal and leader Rajendra Pandey from and CPN (Unified Socialist), Mahantha Thakur and Rajendra Mahato from Democratic Socialist Party, Rajendra Shrestha from Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal, Prem Suwal from Nepal Workers and Peasants Party and Durga Poudel from
Rastriya Janamorcha, among others are attending the meeting, shared Personal Secretary of PM’s Parliamentary Party, Keshav Raj Joshi.
Discussion on contemporary political issues including impasse in the operation of parliament would be held in the meeting.
The main opposition party, CPN (UML), has been obstructing the House since the beginning of the current session, putting forth its dissatisfaction towards some activities of the Speaker.
