APF Lift Lalitpur Mayor’s Cup


Armed Police Force (APF) clinched the title of Lalitpur Mayor’s Cup T20 Cricket Tournament after beating Sudurpaschim Province by eight wickets at T.U International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur on Saturday.

The departmental side APF dominated in both bowling and batting departments as they easily chased the target of 107 runs with the loss of two wickets in the 16.2 overs. APF’s captain Sita Rana Magar was declared the player of the tournament for her remarkable performance during the tournament. Magar received Rs. 25,000.

Likewise, Province No. 1 Captain Rubina Chhetri was named the Best Batswoman while Binu Budha Magar was adjudged the Best Bowler of the tournament. Both Captain Chhetri and Magar bagged Rs. 15,000 each respectively.

The title winner APF bagged Rs. 300,000 while Sudurpaschim pocketed with Rs. 150,000.

Opener Jyoti Pandey scored the highest 36 runs to make her team’s title journey comfortable. Pandey scored five boundaries off 38 balls. Skipper Sita Rana Magar hit 27 runs off 32 balls that included four boundaries. Similarly, Indu Barma added an unbeaten 19 runs off 21 balls and Mamata Chaudhary contributed 15 runs in a comfortable victory of APF.

Jyoti Pandey of APF was declared the Player of the Match for her vital role in the final.

Earlier, Sudurpaschim could not make an impressive batting as they scored just 106 runs in the allocated 20 overs with the loss of seven wickets.

Bindhu Rawal scored the highest 44 runs for victim Sudurpaschim. She scored 44 runs off 54 balls that included four boundaries.

Opener Dolly Bhatta scored 14 runs and Kabita Kunwar scored 13 runs for Sudurpaschim. Similarly, opener Rewati Dhami added ten runs while other batting women of Sudurpaschim fell victim to the disciplined bowling of APF.

Rekha Rawal Karuna Bhandari, Sushma Shrestha, Captain Sita Rana Magar and Binu Budha grabbed one wicket apiece for the winning side.
