Bad weather forces seven helicopters to make emergency landing

Seven helicopters, all en route Kathmandu from Lukla were forced to make an emergency landing on Tuesday morning – four at Kavre District and three at Sindhuli district. They were forced to make the decision after torrential rain caused poor visibility.

Photos of helicopters landing in paddy fields is being widely circulated in social media.

Two Manang Air helicopters, each carrying 5 foreigners, a Simrik Air helicopter carrying 5 foreigners and a Kailash Air helicopter carrying two foreigners made emergency landings at Kavre District – all pilots and passengers are said to be safe.

Similarly, three helicopters made emergency landings at Nepalthok, Sindhuli District.

All seven helicopters will make their way to Kathmanudu once the weather lifts up and the visibility improves.
