CCMC Calls For Vigilance To Break Chain Of New Variant

The COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre (CCMC) Saturday appealed for caution, saying a second wave of coronavirus infection could grip the country.
A meeting of the CCMC held this afternoon decided to appeal nationally for vigilance saying that the graph of COVID-19 infection had increased recently and new variants had also appeared.
Talking to reporters briefly after the meeting, Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and coordinator of the CCMC Khagaraj Baral said that the meeting discussed the current state of transition and preparations for the days ahead and decided to appeal for vigilance to the public.
Similarly, it has been decided to make the DCCMC more active.
The meeting further decided to make the already setup health desks at the border points more effective, increase antigen tests, hospitalize patients with COVID-19 infection and quarantine those who do not show symptoms.
Similarly, Secretary Baral said that strict action may be taken if any sector is found to be operating in a willful manner without following the health standards. The proposals prepared and endorsed by the CCMC would now be taken to the Cabinet meeting for taking final decision, according to Baral.
