The COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC) has enlisted the eight gas manufacturing companies to provide the 7473 big size oxygen cylinders daily in 111 hospitals and isolation centers of the Kathmandu Valley citing the swelling lack of oxygen cylinders.
Issuing the press release on Wednesday, the CCMC has arranged supplied the oxygen cylinders to 111 hospitals and isolation centers following the shortage of oxygen in hospitals providing treatment to COVID-19 patients.
Nurahari Khatiwada, Under- Secretary of the CCMC, Secretariat, said that CCMC has decided to facilitate the hospitals with oxygen cylinders in a bid to manage the ongoing crisis of oxygen and oxygen cylinders.
He added that with the surging cases, oxygen can help many patients, battling the virus, who need support with their breathing to stay alive.
The eight gas manufacturing companies have been listed for the provision. They are Kantipur Oxygen Pvt. Ltd, Sagarmatha Oxygen Pvt. Ltd., Nayajyoti Oxygen Pvt. Ltd., Sita Products Pvt. Ltd., Sopan Oxygen Pvt. Ltd. Shankar Oxygen Pvt. Ltd. Himal Oxygen Private Limited and Hamro Oxygen private limited.
