Chiribabu Maharjan from the Nepali Congress and Baburaja Bajracharya from the CPN (Maoist Center) have registered their candidacies for the post of Mayor of the Lalitpur Metropolitan City.
On Monday afternoon, Chiribabu and Bajracharya along with their supporters registered their candidacies. Maharjan is the outgoing mayor.
Similarly, 11 candidates have been registered for the post of Mayor of LMC.
Harikrishna Byanjankar and Anjali Shakya have been nominated by the CPN (UML) for the post of LMC Mayor and Deputy Mayor respectively.
According to Bishnu Pandey, Assistant Election Officer of LMC, there are seven candidates for the post of Deputy Mayor of LMC.
