Minister for Urban Development Ram Kumari Jhakri has stressed the need for managing budget and making long-term policies for the establishment of new cities.
The government should work hand-in-hand with the private sector for the construction of new cities as its lone efforts would not be enough, said the minister at a press conference organised in Dhangadhi today by the Socialist Press Organisation Nepal, Kailali.
“Rural urbanisation should be prioritised as migration from rural to urban areas has increased. The government is prepared to make long-term policies in this regard as rural urbanisation creates job opportunities at local levels,” she said.
Stating that work to build new cities as announced by the government has not taken pace due to lack of budget, she said that politics on development projects should end.
