COVID-19: Daily updates by MoHP; Several test positive in RDTs

Dr. Bikash Devkota, Speaker for the Ministry of Health and Population appeared on Facebook Live for the day’s media briefing. Here are a few updates:

Total no. of tests done in Nepal: 15,800 ( PCR: 6,871 + Rapid Test: 8,929)

No. of tests in last 24 hours: 2,894

Tests outside Kathmandu: Dharan, Pokhara, Hetauda, Janakpur, Surkhet, Dhangadi, Dhulikhel, Bharatpur, Bhairawaha (PCR Tests)

Rapid Diagnostic Tests: 8,929

(Swab samples of individuals who have tested positive in RDT is sent for PCR test )

They include
2 from Saptari,
2 in Kavre,
1 in Dhading.

No. of people in isolation: 117

Inside Valley: 11

Outside valley: 106

(On suspicion of coronavirus, tests either yet to be done, or results are awaited)

Contact Tracing: On going

No. of cases: 16 (15 active, 1 recovery)
