Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, Speaker for the Ministry of Health and Population appeared on Facebook Live for the day’s media briefing. Here are a few updates:

Total no. of PCR tests done in Nepal: 237,764

No. of PCR tests in last 24 hours: 4537

Tests outside Kathmandu: Dharan, Pokhara, Hetauda, Janakpur, Surkhet, Dhangadi, Dhulikhel, Bharatpur, Nepalgunj, Bhairawaha (PCR Tests)

No. of cases: 14,519

Active cases: 10,137

Recovery: 5,320

Death: 31 (The deceased is a 49 days old infant who was permanent resident of Dhaulagiri-4, Myagdi. The baby was admitted to ICU of Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital after having respiratory problems. The baby’s swab sample was taken for coronavirus test before the tracheostomy operation for which he tested positive on Tuesday. The baby succumbed to coronavirus infection at 4:00 pm on June 1.)
