The government has decided to provide relief to the families of the deceased of the Motipur Industrial Corridor incident.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Monday decided to provide relief to the families of the victims of the Motipur Industrial Corridor incident.
As per the decision, each family of the deceased would receive relief amount of Rs. 550,000 with Rs. 50,000 meant for performing the funeral rites.
In the incident, four persons were killed after security forces opened fire to control the mob that attacked on security personnel. Over 28 security personnel had also been injured during the clash erupting on October 10.
Making the decisions of the Cabinet meeting public on Tuesday, Minister for Communications and Information Technology and government spokesperson Gyanendra Bahadur Karki said that the government had approved the working procedure submitted by the task force formed to provide relief for the damage of paddy caused by post-monsoon rains.
The government through a Cabinet meeting last week had already decided to distribute compensations amounting up to 65 per cent of the damages made on paddy for up to 10 katthas, 30 per cent for up to 3 bigahas of land, and 20 per cent to farmers having more than 3 bigahas of paddy farmland. The compensation distribution will be based on the government-fixed minimum price of the paddy.
The government has also decided to approve acquisition of land for constructing 400 KV substation in Kushma and Jumla, promote Niru Dahal Pandey to the post of Gazetted Special Category under the Nepal Agriculture and Forest Services Group, to establish sister city relationship between Kirtipur Municipality and Huanggang City in Hubei Province of China.
Spokesperson Minister Karki said that as per the recommendation of the Public Service Commission, it has been decided to appoint Gazetted First Class officers in various services.
The government has also given approval to officials from the Ministry of Health and Population to participate in the special session of the World Health Assembly, WHA 74 (16) to be held in Geneva.
Minister Karki said that the government has a policy to vaccinate everyone from children to the elderly as the purchasing and delivery of assistance from various countries was the top priority of the government.
“Since the present coalition government took office, the Prime Minister has been insisting on inoculation drive for people of all age groups,” Minister Karki said.
