CPN (Maoist Center) to solicit experts’ suggestions on issues to include in election manifesto

CPN (Maoist Center) is collecting suggestions from stakeholders and sectoral experts for formulating its election manifesto in the context of the upcoming election for the members of the House of Representatives (HoR) and Provincial Assembly (PA).

The HoR and PA election is slated for November 20.

A meeting of the committee to prepare the draft of the election commitment held Friday at the party’s headquarters at Paris Danda took a decision to this effect.

Maoist Center’s senior vice chairman and coordinator of the election manifesto drafting committee Narayan Kaji Shrestha has proposed soliciting suggestions from the experts and stakeholders so as to reflect a concept of socialism- oriented state.

The meeting also formed a schedule to collect suggestions from September 22 to 24. The party will hold formal interactions to collect suggestions from experts including leftist intellectuals, civil society activists, stakeholders of bank and financial institutions, private sector, cooperatives, education and health sector, labour and employment sector, youth and sports, science and technology, national security, foreign affairs, energy and water resources, tourism and culture, social security and social justice and infrastructure development.

The Maoist Center has prepared to put forward some novel issues in the election commitment paper.

We will include only the policies and programmes that can be and must be implemented in a period of five years, senior vice-chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center) Narayan Kaji Shrestha said after the meeting.

Individuals can also send their suggestions in points to be included in the election commitment paper of the CPN (Maoist Center) to [email protected] , according to the party.
