CPN (MC) Is Slowly Becoming Like UML, Worries Prachanda

Former Prime Minister and Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the pro-democratic forces should still stand together to save the republic and federalism.

He made such remarks while addressing a programme organised on the occasion of the memorial day of Suryanath Yadav held at the party’s central office, Paris Danda, Koteshwor on Monday.

“Transformation is a must to build a new and equitable society while advancing the socialist revolution through development and prosperity,” said Prachanda.

He also expressed his concern that his party was gradually changing into UML. Chairman Prachanda asked, “If this trend continues and the party fails to run according to people’s aspirations, then what is the point of running such an unprincipled party?”

“Since CPN (Maoist Centre) is the only party which will advance the strategy of socialist revolution, if we work a little harder, it will be possible to be number one in the coming election,” he added.

Stating that it is time for all the communist forces to think, he said, if the communists did not lead, others would only spoil the country. “Hence, the time has come to think for the country and the people.”

He said that it was necessary to unite the former Maoists and the revolutionary forces by reviewing their goals.

Prachanda said it was time for Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’, Mohan Baidhya, Upendra Yadav, Baburam Bhattarai and Mohan Bikram Singh to sit together and review the history.
