Chairperson of CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal has reminded that the party he was leading was formed against an authoritarian leader who emerged in the camouflage of a communist in the country. The Unified Socialist party will create public trust and mandate against such authoritarian leader, he reiterated.
Chairperson Nepal said it while addressing the concluding session of the first extended meeting of Socialist Press Organization Nepal close to the Unified Socialist here Sunday. “There are global examples that authoritarian leaders emerge and dominate the national affairs in the camouflage of socialism or communism if the character (leader) has a cruel mindset,” he argued.
Chairperson Nepal who is also the former prime minister stressed that media persons should emphasize fact-based reporting.
He further reminded that although the people had given a huge mandate to the communist party, the individualist, selfish, and rightist opportunist leadership watered down people’s aspiration for economic prosperity.
According to him, party organization should continue even beyond the election to be rooted to the people-to-people level. The Unified Socialist party has aimed at assuring development, social justice and equality. Time has come to generate national capital and ensure a self-reliant economy. Expansion of investment is equally important in the sectors of agriculture, industry and tourism, Chairperson Nepal added.
Party Deputy General Secretary and organization in-charge Jagannath Khatiwada viewed that publicity would be intensified to ensure the party’s victory in the coming election.
On the occasion, Socialist Press Organization’s Chairperson Shambhu Shrestha said the organization was committed to working for the rights of working journalists.
