Agitating medical activist Dr Govinda KC has halted his fast-unto-death. Issuing a press release today, Dr KC informed that he is halting his strike for now as the general public from various corners of the country are protesting the new political map released by India.
The new map of India has placed the disputed territory of Kalapani within its territory. Nepal has long been claiming that Kalapani, Lipu Lekh and Limphuyadhara are very much part of its territory.
Dr KC, through his press release, said that he is halting his hunger strike with respect to the sentiments of Nepali people fighting for national sovereignty. Dr KC was staging his 17th hunger strike demanding reforms in the medical education sector since November 5.
