The ruling alliance has argued that the election results have re-confirmed the need and relevance of the coalition.

They have also observed the conduction of the local level election in May and the election of the member of the House of Representatives (HoR) and the Provincial Assembly (PA) in November by the coalition government has oriented the country to political stability and prosperity in addition to further consolidating of democracy and safeguarding of the constitution.

Issuing a statement after the meeting of the four ruling parties today, Nepali Congress president and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, CPN (Unified Socialist) Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal and Rashtriya Janamorcha vice-chair Durga Paudel have remarked that the poll results have pointed at the need for moving ahead forging mutual agreement and cooperation.

It was the first joint meeting of the ruling parties after the recently held HoR and PA elections.

“It is necessary to continue the present coalition to face the challenges before the country,” read the statement.

Noting the instances of unhelp and misunderstanding at different levels during the election despite clear instructions from the coalition partners, the parties said such issues will be reviewed appropriately and resolved in the days to come.
