Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre) and former prime minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has said the November 20 election to House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly would serve as the referendum between those for protecting the republic and restoring the monarchy.
Addressing an election assembly organized by the ruling alliance at Diktel Wednesday, Chairman Dahal reiterated that the forces for protection of republic, constitution and democracy are in one side while the next side is of those for restoring monarchy. He argued that there was already a people’s wave for ruling alliance, so there was no chance of getting monarchy restored.
“My party, ruling alliance and government will fully commit to the development of Khotang district,” he said, adding vote for ruling alliance is necessary for development and prosperity.
On the occasion, Nepali Congress Spokesperson Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat assured that the alliance government would ensure all-weather road in the district. “UML Chair Oli ji only talks but does not work. But, the alliance government works,” he said, urging the people to vote for alliance candidates.
He further reminded that ruling alliance would focus on holistic development of Khotang as it is one of the major tourist destinations in the country. It has Tuwachung-Jayajung, the provenance of Kirant civilization. Similarly, Haleshi is the confluence of three religious faiths.(RSS)
