Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal has assured that the financial and technical assistance received from Germany would be utilised in the right way.
She expressed her confidence that the existing Nepal-Germany relations would be deepened further in the days to come with Dr. Stephan Russek, Charge d’ Affaires of Embassy of Germany, who paid a courtesy call on her at the ministry on Tuesday.
She thanked Germany for its support in the construction of alternative energy and transmission lines and expressed confidence that Nepal would continue to receive support in the development of the energy sector.
She also appreciated Germany for its assistance in post-earthquake reconstruction and control of the COVID-19 pandemic.
On the occasion, Charge d’ Affaires Russek said that the support being provided by the German government for the development of Nepal’s energy sector would be expanded in the coming days.
Stating that the German government has been assisting Nepal in the field of alternative energy as well, he recalled the financial assistance provided for the construction of Chilime-Trisuli and Lekhnath-Damauli 220 kV transmission lines. He also inquired about the progress of these projects.
Similarly, he also expressed interest in the Bill on electricity presented in the parliament.
