Homecoming: 168 Nepalis arrive from UAE (In Photos)

An Air Arabia flight carrying 168 Nepalis landed in Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu at 6 p.m. (NST) on Friday. Completing formality at the airport, the arriving Nepalis were transferred to different holding centres in Kathmandu for further tests. They will await clearance to be transferred to their respective provinces.

On Friday, two flights (one from Myanmar and one from UAE) landed in Kathmandu. While both flights were not initiatives of the Nepalese Government, Friday’s arrivals marks the first batch of Nepalis stranded in Nepal being allowed back home. Meanwhile, it has been reported that several Embassies/Missions are pressurising the government to organise repatriation flights of their own.
