Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has reiterated his commitment not to sign any agreement going against the national interest.
He made this remark during a meeting of the top leaders of the ruling five parties held at his official residence in Baluwatar on Sunday.
During the meeting, the top leaders discussed the issues relating to the potential Cabinet reshuffle and the State Partnership Programme (SPP) of the USA. The leaders also discussed about calling an all-party meeting on the SPP.
Prime Minister and Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN-Maoist Centre chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, CPN (Unified Socialist) chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal and leader Jhala Nath Khanal, Janata Samajwadi Party chair Upendra Yadav and others were present in the meeting.
PM Deuba assured the leaders that he would take a decision to call on all-party meeting if needed.
After the meeting, senior leader of the ruling CPN (Unified Socialist) Khanal informed that the leaders discussed about holding an all-party meeting.
The meeting concluded not to ink any agreement during the upcoming US visit of Prime Minister Deuba, Khanal said. Likewise, leaders discussed about reshuffling the Cabinet.
After the meeting, CPN (Unified Socialist) chair Nepal in a separate press meet informed that the leaders discussed about reshuffling the Cabinet.
“We had forwarded names from our party to induct in the Cabinet. Prime Minister Deuba has assured us of Cabinet reshuffle at the earliest,” Nepal said.
