KMC warns against displaying ads on hoarding/digital boards without permission

Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), on Wednesday, has issued a fresh warning to advertisers displaying promotional materials via hoarding boards and digital boards without permission within its jurisdiction area.

Issuing a public notice, the metropolis has instructed concerned agencies and organisations to remove hoarding boards and digital boards that have not obtained permission and those whose permission has expired.

“Everyone concerned is informed not to display advertising without permission from September 21,” reads the notice of the metropolis.

According to KMC, the notice has been published after the decision in KMC’s favour from the Patan High Court on 15 September in the case of prohibition of display advertisement.

Agencies, institutions, companies and concerned people have been informed not to conduct outdoor advertising without prior permission. In case of a violation of the rules, the notice mentions that KMC will take necessary action.
