Lok Bahadur Karki Arrested On Charge Of Madi Murder Case, Accused Was Returned From Foreign Employment

Police have arrested an accused involved in the murder of the Karki family of Umling in Madi Municipality-1 of Sankhuwasabha district. Police have arrested 26-year-old Lok Bahadur Karki, a neighbour, for killing his own family.

A police official involved in the investigation said that Karki himself had confessed to killing six people. According to police, Karki confessed to killing his uncle Tej Bahadur due to personal rage and anger. It is said that Karki has admitted that he killed his uncle Tej Bahadur as he had repeatedly treated him with contempt. He has admitted that he killed all the members after they saw him while he was killing Tej Bahadur.

Who is Lok Bahadur Karki?

Neighbor Chandra Bahadur Thapa informed that Lok Bahadur Karki, 26, dropped out of school after studying up to class 8. According to Thapa, Karki, who did not work at home, went to work in Malaysia and Qatar but returned less than a year ago and lived in the village.

Thapa says that even though he went to Malaysia six years ago, he returned home in 10 months without paying the debt that he had taken to go abroad. A year and a half later, he returned to Qatar for foreign employment but returned home less than nine months later. According to Thapa, Karki has been behaving like never coming home at night, never disappearing from the house at night, wandering around the village without any work. “Like killed uncle, I used to guide him and shout over him, ‘If this trend was continued my life also in danger,'” Thapa said.

Lok Bahadur had been living in a family of three including his father and brother after his mother passed away on April 10. Tej Bahadur’s mother died in Jhapa while undergoing treatment after she fainted at her house. Neighbours have been saying that Lok Bahadur has been blaming Tej Bahadur for his mother’s death.

Lok Bahadur had killed his grandmother Parvata, 84, uncle Tej Bahadur, 58, untie Kamala, 52, sister-in-law Ranjana, 32, nephew Dipen, 11, and niece Goma Karki, 7. The news of the murder was given to the neighbour by Lok Bahadur himself. In the house of Lok Bahadur, the cloth was found covered in blood and weapons used in the murder were found by the police. The details of the incident and those involved will be made public by the police at a press conference tomorrow (Sunday).
