The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Madhesh Province is estimated to be expended by 4.82 per cent in FY 2021/22.
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) published a study of the half-yearly economic situation of Madhesh Province on Wednesday, stating that the contribution of agriculture, industry and service sectors is estimated to remain 34.31 per cent, 12.11 per cent and 53.58 per cent respectively.
The report stated that the province’s GDP is estimated to become approximately Rs 644.28 billion at the current price in the current fiscal year. Its contribution to the GDP of the national economy will comprise 13.28 per cent.
In the review period, production of food and other crop decreased by 3.04 per cent while vegetables increased by 0.75 per cent and fruit and spices increased by 2.05 per cent.
In the review period, industries are operating at 49.92 per cent of their full capacity.
In the review period, the total deposit of the bank and financial institutions increased by 13.24 per cent to Rs 247.09 billion and credit outflow increased by 37.29 per cent to Rs 424.14 billion.
