“Mask up”, Ministry of Health & Population appeals as Covid-19 cases continue to increase


Nepal, on Thursday, 21st July registered 435 new cases of Covid-19 from 1,667 RT PCR and 1,902 antigen tests. As of Thursday, there are 2,537 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation of which, 141 are admitted to institutional isolation out of which 19 are in ICU and none in ventilator support.

As the number of infections continue to rise, the Ministry of Health & Population has made a fresh appeal asking public to mask-up and to practice vigilance.

The government has requested public to wear a mask when visiting public places, and has asked respective offices to make available sanitizers at the point of entry. It has also requested to enforce cumpulsory masks in public transport including airports and flights.

Furthermore, it has advised hospitals to be equipped for a surge in infections, and has asked respected bodies to increase vaccination efforts. Meanwhile, airport authorities at the Tribhuvan International Airport have been requested to montor arriving patients for symptoms.
