MCC already into implementation, no foreign army coming into Nepal: Communication Minister Karki

Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has made it clear that the MCC has already been into operation and that there is no ounce of truth in the rumour about the foreign army coming into Nepal.

He said so at a press meet held to make public the decisions made by the Council of Ministers.

“There is a process for civilians of a country to visit the other country. Without the process, it is only the heresy for any individual, army personnel coming into or going from one country to the other,” said the Communication Minister.

He observed that the benefits of the Millennium Challenge Corporation for the people of Nepal (MCC) will be seen soon.

“We all know the MCC has been endorsed with near consensus from the parliament, and it is being implemented for a specific objective. Now, it is time for us all to make common efforts so that Nepali society gets the benefits of the MCC,” he said.

Talking about the decision of the Cabinet, the Communication Minister said that the work of retrofitting and reconstructing the private residents will be continued till mid-July.

The Cabinet meeting also decided to approve labour agreement between Nepal and the UK.

The government has also decided to receive Rs. 366 million of grants from the government of Japan for the developing human resources in Nepal.
