Minister for Home Affairs Bal Krishna Khand on Wednesday took information about the condition of those who were injured in the lightning strike in the yard of Kulbir Budha in Gurau Village of Ward No. 12 of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan city, Dang district.
Telephoning Chief District Officer of Dang, Hira Lal Regmi and District Chief of Nepal Police, Superintendent of Police Bir Bahadur Oli, Minister Khand inquired about the condition of the injured people.
The Home Minister directed them to take the injured to the hospital immediately and to inform the federal government if the treatment was not possible in the district. SP Oli said that in the incident, 16-year-old Deepa Gharti and 19-year-old Manisha Shah of the same village died due to lightning on Tuesday evening.
Oli said that out of the nine injured, five were in normal condition and others were still receiving treatment. The condition of 15-year-old Niruta Shah, 15-year-old Jayanti Gharti, 16-year-old Yamusari Thapa and 38-year-old Yam Kumari Shah of the same village are reported to be non-life threatening.
In the incident, 14-year-old Anjana Gharti, 38-year-old Bel Kumari Gharti, 15-year-old Sabitra Oli, 42-year-old Mana Kumari Oli and 4-year-old girl Jenisha Shah sustained minor injuries, police said.
Home Minister Khand has instructed them to arrange all possible resources for their treatment at the earliest possible.
