Mustang has become the second district to vaccinate all eligible residents above 18 years of age against COVID-19.
Manang was the first district to vaccinate all residents above 18 years of age.
According to Mustang Health Office Chief, Tikaram Bhandari, a total of 9,513 residents have been fully immunized while the remaining 242 are awaiting their second dose of Vero Cell in the district.
“All the locals are now vaccinated. If anyone is left behind by any chance or due to unforeseen circumstances, we have urged such people to contact us,” said Bhandari.
He said that the district had some surplus vaccines.
Bhandari added that the vaccination drive was conducted in Mustang as per the decisions made by the meeting of the District Immunisation Inspection and Coordination Committee and not a single dose was misused or wasted.
As per him, 213 people who came from outside the district to work in Mustang have also been vaccinated.
According to Bhandari, there are 6,721 people who have been vaccinated with Johnson & Johnson, 320 people have received both doses of Vero Cell vaccine while 2,472 people have received both doses of Covishield vaccine.
Currently, there are 20 active cases of COVID-19 in Mustang, of which only one person is admitted at institutional isolation and the remaining patients are in home isolation.
As of Wednesday, Mustang has recorded 518 cases of COVID-19 and 15 fatalities.
