Nepali Congress General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma has maintained a lead in the House of Representatives (HoR) member election by a huge margin in Jhapa-1.
Alliance’s candidate Sharma has received 11,385 votes whereas his contender UML’s Agni Kharel is trailing behind by receiving 7,086 votes.
Alliance’s candidate Sharma is ahead of Kharel by 4,299 votes.
National Independent Party’s Om Nath Bhandari received 1,981 votes.
According to the Election Office, 22,331 votes have been counted so far.
