Chairman of NCP (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal has instructed the party rank and file to make their own preparation for the upcoming elections instead of relying on the alliance. As the general, provincial elections are set to be held on November this year and they would determine the future of his party, Chairman Nepal instructed the party leaders and cadres to make their own preparation.
Addressing a programme organised by Nepal Tamang Sangh Samajwadi here at Kathmandu on Saturday, he asked the party rank and file to join the work of strengthening the party’s organisation.
The party’s organisation expansion campaign will be launched nationwide, he added.
Stating that his party turned weak in the local level elections because they relied on the alliance, leader Nepal claimed that the parties that had formed electoral alliance did not support his party. “Though we supported other parties of alliance, we didn’t get support in return.”
Nepal said his party received 9, 27,000 votes even though they had fielded only 28 percent of candidates in the local level elections.
“Our party will get 20 to 25 seats along with proportional representation in the upcoming federal and provincial elections,” he claimed.
He mentioned that his party will win at least 12 seats in House of Representatives from first-past-the-post elections.
“Our party will be strengthened and will set a new record in a short period of time,” he added.
