Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has assured that the new bill related to citizenship would be passed soon with consensus among political parties.
A decision in this regard would be taken by tabling the bill in the meeting of the Council of Ministers scheduled for Friday itself, said the Minister while responding to queries raised on the proposal to withdraw the Nepal Citizen (First Amendment) Bill, 2075 in the session of the House of Representatives on Friday.
Stating that it is the common responsibility of the state and the government to provide all Nepalis with the citizenship certificate, he, however, said it would take time to discuss and pass bills to this effect tabled earlier. The withdrawal of the existing bill related to the matter aimed to bring the new bill, he informed, expecting cooperation of all political parties in this regard.
