Oli claims win in Jhapa; Pushpa Kamal Dahal victory certain in Gorkha-2


CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Jhapa-5.

Oli got 52,319 votes while his nearest rival Khagendra Adhikari got 23,743 votes. Oli won by a margin of 28,576 votes.

Meanwhile, it is almost certain that Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda), Chairman of CPN (Maoist Center) will claim win in Gorkha-2 constituency.

Prachanda is leading with 21,075 votes leaving his nearest competitor behind by 12,612 votes. In Gorkha-2, 12,571 votes are yet to be counted.

Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has claimed yet another win, maintaining 4 seats in HoR. RSP candidate Sishir Khanal wins the election for the member of HoR from Kathmandu-6 with 14,204 votes.
