Oli-Dahal meet for 3 hours ahead of Standing Committee Meeting


Chairmen duo of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), KP Sharma Oli, also Prime Minister, and Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, have prepared a proposal for discussion in the Standing Committee (SC) meeting slated for Friday, holding over three hour long meeting today, according to Baluwatar sources.

The NCP top brasses held discussion for over 3 hours, from 11:30 to 2:30 pm, at Baluwatar, the Prime Minister’s official residence.

The Chairmen duo are said to have prepared the proposal on the basis of the report submitted by the task force and other notable issues that were to be addressed.

In the meeting of the party Secretariat held on September 3, some senior leaders had questioned over the report of the task force.

The two chairpersons are preparing to get the report endorsed incorporating suggestions after it has been discussed in the SC meeting.

The Standing Committee meeting called for July 28 was postponed for September 11.

Bishnu Sapkota, advisor to the chairman, Puspa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, said, “The two chairmen of the NCP has prepared the proposal after having a long homework on it.”

The proposal will be presented in the SC meeting to be held on Friday.

Ram Sharan Bajagai, media communication expert to the Prime Minister, said the long discussion between the two chairpersons was focused on preparing the proposal for the meeting.

The meeting was held on Monday for an hour prior to today’s meeting.

The NCP has moved forward on the basis of the report submitted by the task force to resolve the ongoing internal conflict.
