Omicron infection confirmed in 24 more people in Nepal


Kathmandu, Omicron variant infection of corona virus has been confirmed in 24 more people in Nepal. The Ministry of Health and Population said on Friday that 24 more people had been confirmed to have omicron infection.

The ministry said in a statement that a sample of 1146 people who tested positive in the first five months of the month was tested and found to be S-gene negative in 22 percent. The ministry said that 24 people tested positive for the virus were infected with the virus.

The ministry has also instructed hospitals to be on high alert with essential medical supplies and equipment as the number of people infected with Omicron may increase.
