Paras Khadka announces retirement from captaincy of national team

Paras Khadka has announced his retirement from the post of the captain of the national team.

The announcement comes after the decision of the International Cricket Council’s board meeting to lift the suspension of Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) imposed in 2016 following government interference.

Announcing the retirement via social media, Khadka has paid homage to all cricket players, coach, umpires, family and friends and all well-wishers.

He tweeted: “Great to know that the suspension of Nepal cricket has been lifted and would like to wish the new committee to work for the betterment of Nepal cricket, players and its stake holders. I have hereby decided to resign from my post as the captain of Nepal cricket team. Jai Nepal !!”

All rounder Khadka has represented Nepali cricket team at many international grounds and is hailed as one of the best Nepal has seen.
