Chairman of Nepal Communist Party (Prachanda-Nepal Faction), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the dissolution of the parliament was against the spirit and essence of the Constitution.
While addressing the central assembly of the Peoples’ Cultural Federation at the party’s central office Paris Danda here today, chairman Prachanda said that the move of parliament dissolution was against the Constitution as it was made despite having several options of forming governments.
He said it was unfortunate to dissolve the parliament adding that the Prime Minister does not have any right to take this decision under the current constitution. He added that preserving the federal republic system was the need of the hour as it was hard-earned following seven decades struggle of the people.
Chair Prachanda added that the provision of parliament dissolution was made conditional as the last option curtailing the arbitrary rights of the Prime Minister. Such condition was clarified for the stability and meeting the people’s expectation, Dahal added.
He also claimed that the Supreme Court will reinstate the parliament following the constitution and laws. Referring to public comments that they took to the streets for personal cause, he claimed that they were coming to the streets to stage protest to strengthen the system and Constitution.
Similarly, standing committee member Surendra Pandey claimed that the SC will give verdict in line with constitution, laws, procedures and the system. He also said that his faction will get authenticity from the Election Commission.
